Newbury Geological Study Group (NGSG) | How we are run

The Newbury Geological Study Group arranges trips to sites of Geological interest. Trips are normally day trips within 100 miles or two hours driving time from Newbury. We also have weekend trips to sites which can not be visited in day. For most trips Dr. Les James of the University of Reading provides the geological expertise. Membership is open to all and it is not necessary to have any knowledge of the subject or to live in the Newbury area.

Membership is free. All we need is your name, email address and phone number, but for insurance purposes you must register your interest before attending your first trip.
We charge £5.00 per person for most trips , but we do not charge for the weekend trips. The £5.00 is collected on the day. Children are most welcome and there is no charge but they must be accompanied by an adult who will accept responsibility for them.
